As a wedding photographer, you most likely don’t want to spend a lot of time marketing your business, but rather devote those hours doing what you love - creating beautiful photos. Even though, I firmly believe that Pinterest should be part of your marketing strategy. After all, Pinterest is a platform your potential clients often use to plan their big day.

If you decide to tackle your Pinterest marketing yourself, here are 5 quick tips that you can do to improve your page.

1 | Separate your business and personal account

If you already have a Pinterest account that you have been using for saving all sorts of content, I recommend you to create a new one for your business. Think of it this way. You want your profile to look professional and show your work the best way possible. That is simply not possible if your photos are mixed in with dinner recipes, outfit ideas and interior decor inspiration.

2 | Include the words “wedding photographer” in your profile name and description

Doing that will not only improve your Pinterest SEO and help your show up when someone searches for wedding photographers on Pinterest, but will also tell users right away what your profile is all about.

3 | Use the same profile photo that you do on other channels

If you are just starting on Pinterest, chance is you don’t have as large of a following as you do on Instagram or Facebook. That is why you want to use the same profile photo that you do on other channels so that people may recognize your profile by that alone.

4 | Claim your website and Instagram

This will automatically attribute all the pins saved from your website or Instagram to your Pinterest account. Whether you do the saving or someone else, your account name will now always show up at the top right corner when opening up the pin.

5 | Enable rich pins

By enabling rich pins on your website, Pinterest will pull up additional information from your website and add it to the pin itself. This way you can provide more value to Pinterest users and let them know about the content that they can access when clicking on the pin.
